What is an ADR?
An ADR (American Depositary Receipt) is a security that represents shares of foreign companies traded on U.S. stock exchanges. It is issued by U.S. banks and traded in U.S. dollars. ADRs can be purchased in the same way as domestic stocks, with trading, dividends, and regulations all following U.S. standards.
