Commodities are raw materials turned into finished goods sold to consumers. There are two main types of commodities: hard commodities and soft commodities.

Hard commodities are commodities which can be mined. Examples include gold, silver, copper and oil.
Soft commodities cannot be mined, and are often grown. Examples include coffee, cotton, sugar and more.
