MetaQuotes has announced that their popular trading apps, MT4 and MT5, are once again available for download on the AppStore as of March 6th, 2023. The reinstatement of the apps followed a lengthy process in which MetaQuotes provided Apple with explanations surrounding operational technicalities and additional insights as requested.

MetaQuotes CEO, Renat Fatkhullin expressed his satisfaction that the situation has been resolved and the company has found an understanding with Apple. He emphasized that MetaQuotes always strives to meet the requirements of any marketplace and feels responsible to their users.

“We are happy that the situation has been resolved and we managed to find an understanding with Apple,” “Our company respects the requirements of any marketplace and always strives to meet them. We feel responsible to our users and, therefore, we did our best to provide clarifications on the issues raised from Apple in a timely manner. I also want to thank the traders, brokers and media, who actively showed their support.”

In September of last year, Apple removed MetaTrader 4 and MetaTrader 5 from its App Store due to increasing complaints from users who had accounts at offshore and unlicensed brokers offering trading on the platforms. At the time, there was speculation on other FX industry news sites that the ban was related to MetaQuotes’ connections to Russia, but this was found to be incorrect. Despite the founders being from Russia, the company has been based in Cyprus for more than two decades.

MetaTrader 4 and MetaTrader 5 are mobile versions of the popular MetaTrader trading platform, designed for trading currencies and stocks. The applications are fully-featured working tools that allow the implementation of various trading strategies. They have been available free of charge via the App Store since 2011 and can also be downloaded from the Google Play Store and the official website of the platform.
